the Lolly-Pop game

12/2/10

"I rock at this game!" Marley says.

Here's how it works. You take your index finger and circle it around someones face (no need to touch the face) saying "Lolly, lolly, lolly," then you clap directly in front of the face at the same time saying "POP!" The person who blinks at the "POP" looses. Seems simple enough, right?

Well this particular day right before Kindergarten Marley had her Daddy and I laughing pretty hard. She is SO entertaining. Here are some pics of Marley playing the Lolly-Pop game... first with herself, when she rocks. I have the picture to prove it.

"Lolly, lolly, lolly..."

"POP!" See? Eyes, open. She does rock!... until she plays with Daddy...

"Lolly, lolly, lolly..."

"POP!" Looks like Daddy won this one.
I love her face in this last picture. I love her dimples, she's so cute!

Let's Cuddle

Emma loves her Tinker Bell.

Marley loves her Bun Bun.

Tinker Bell loves to cuddle. She is in there somewhere, you can barely see her nose poking out of my blanket. I've never had a dog that would sleep under a blanket. I don't know if it's because it's cold now but she does this a lot. She's a baby! :)

Thanksgiving 2010

11/25/2010

Good morning, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Colt started out his morning playing is yearly Turkey Bowl game while the kids and I played, watched the Macy's Day Parade on TV and packed for our trip to SL.

Emma thought it was pretty cool "Panda" was on TV, too.  We had to keep watching this part a few times, she loved it.
We met Grandma and Grandpa Kierstead and went to Golden Corral for Thanksgiving lunch/dinner. It was SO yummy and crowded, although we didn't have to wait that long for a table. This seems to be the new tradition for many people. We had a good time. Then we went back to their house to watch movies and visit. We had a very nice time with them.

Grandma and the kids.

"It's Turkey day! Gobble, gobble."
Then we headed down town to stay at a hotel. We stayed at the Sheraton, it was so nice. Our plan was to get up the next morning and meet Grandma and Grandpa for a movie at the Gateway.

the Girlies

The kids loved the room. For a week Marley kept asking "When are we going to stay at the apartment?" When we got there she loved it so much. They both decided they wanted to move there. They had a good time.

Marley is such a little model.

We got to the hotel a little late and we were a little hungry. The only place around that was open was Denny's. Corbin ate his food pretty quickly, he was super hungry.

Marley didn't eat anything but a couple of grapes. This is about the time she started getting sick. She ended up being sick all night and we had to go home first thing in the morning. We didn't get to see the movie but we will definitely see it (Tangled) this month, we promised.

Emma throwing a fit because I wouldn't let her take off her shoes and socks. She was sooo tired.

Good morning, Salt Lake!
Other then Marley getting sick Thanksgiving night, we had a wonderful time. Emma was the only other one that got sick, the following Saturday night, but the rest of us have been lucky so far.
We hope everyone else had a good Thanksgiving!!

Marley Jo

Miss Marley absolutely loves school. She's doing so well and is my little social butterfly.

These are the words she's working on for October - December. When I tell her to write the word she can all by herself. She can read them, too. Now we are working on words for January. I'm so glad she likes to learn.

This little one has also changed so much since school has started. She seems so grown up. I love this girl!

Receiving his first award as a Cub Scout. He completed his requirements for his Bobcat in just one week but it took him two months to get it. (Our October Pack Meeting was at the corn maze so they didn't do awards that night.)

Corbin pinning my Bobcat pin on me. How cool, the mom gets a pin! :)

Squeezin'.

He's a Bobcat!! Now on to the Wolf...
I'm so proud of this kid. He LOVES scouts! It helps that he has a great leader, Sister Larsen.

Emma Girl

I love this girl. Her personality has grown so much since not having her binky. It's really surprised me how much she has changed. A few things about Emma...

Emma loves, LOVES SHREK.

She likes junk food - chips, candy, pop, gum...

She likes her hair done, super strange, but I don't complain.

Emma loves to play with her baby dolls.

She enjoys coloring and drawing.

Emma LOVES it when her Daddy grabs her by the ankles and swings her side to side. This used to terrify her but now she can't get enough of it.

Grove Girls

11/18/2010

We have the opportunity to have two of my GREAT nieces in our home during the week. It's so much fun having them here. I like to watch Emma interact and play with these girls. She is such a huge helper with Tessa and she can hold her own and play well with a three year old... She doesn't play with very many three year olds. It's fun and crazy thinking that Emma and Brooklyn will be in the same grade - NUTS!!

Corbin adores these girls (especially the baby that adores him back), Marley loves to help with Tessa but mostly play house with Brooklyn, and Emma goes where she's wanted and needed. It's so much fun to watch them play.

Colt and I adore these girls, too. We love to listen to Brooklyn's stories. Just the other day she SO excitedly told Uncle Colt "I'm getting roller blades!" Then of course Tessa loves him back, they've bonded already. Such a huge step from the first week when he didn't dare hold her. ;) His reasoning? Because when it's his baby it's OK if he makes it cry but when it's someone else's it's not good. Men. I think he was surprised to find out that he has a calming effect on Tessa. She has him wrapped around her finger.

Here are some pictures...

Tessa lookin cute, what she does best!

Emma, Tessa, Brooklyn

Tessa smiling at Corbin.

This picture makes me smile. Her face is all blurry because Corbin is movin her around. Obviously she doesn't mind.

She loves Corbin!

Thanks Britt for letting your girls be with us. We love them!
