Conversations with Marley

While tucking her into bed this conversation went something like this...

Marley: Mom, where is my old backpack?

Me: Still in the van.

(it has a bunch of books in it "for the road" and I believe she wanted to read some of them while going to sleep)

Marley: Crud.

She's never used that word before and I thought it was kind of cute so I say...

Crud? (with a little laugh)

Marley: (while fluffing her pillow and getting comfy nonchalantly says) Ya, it means sh*t.

I had to stop from laughing and quickly correct her and explain that this was a word that would make her get soap on her tongue. I asked her where she heard this and learned it and she said "I dunno, just me." Then she said to ask her kindergarten teacher. I'm wondering if somehow this was talked about in school. I don't know. Sometimes I just don't know.
